Frequently Asked Questions
What is Neurofeedback Brain-Training?
When you learned to ride a bike, you couldn’t explain how you did it, but once you learned you never forgot. Your mind didn’t learn. Your brain did. Brains learn by paying attention to results. We call that feedback. Each time you fell off the bike, your brain adjusted until it discovered how to stay up. That pattern has been used ever since. Habits in your brain become habits in your life. Neuro-feedback is a real-time mirror that lets your brain see what it is doing, so it can shift to new patterns for your life today and tomorrow.
How Does Whole-Brain-Training neurofeedback work?
Start by defining 5-10 habits you want to change. Map electrical activity from multiple sites on your brain, identifying any patterns researchers have linked with those habits. Your personalized training plan tells you what and where to train in each of 5 40-60-minute exercise sessions. Train 2-5 or more times a week. Don’t think, don’t try, don’t judge; just let your brain focus on the feedback during videos, music, games—even general work on your computer. Train regularly for 3-5 months and notice the change in how you think, act, feel and perform. Form new habits to build your new tomorrow..

They all appreciate the customized training system, its ease of use and cost-effectiveness.
What do I need to do neurofeedback brain-training?
There are two technologies: EEG trains electrical patterns in the brain; HEG (State Changer) trains blood levels in the prefrontal Executive Center. You can choose to do one or the other or both. 1. Sensors capture the electrical or blood flow data and deliver it to 2. an amplifier, where it is processed and sent to 3. your Windows computer. 4. Training and assessment software process the data into a training plan and training exercises. The Whole-Brain Training package (link) allows you to choose the items you want for your training.

Do I have to be certified or licensed to do neurofeedback brain-training?
Brain-training is not like drugs or electric pulses. It is non-invasive—a mirror that allows a brain to see the results of what it is doing. Although there is a self-proclaimed professional certification, it is not required by anyone. Brain-Trainer’s approach is to save the time and money this process requires, so our trainers are able to learn by doing and start helping people almost immediately. Since brain-training is a skill, and the Brain-Trainer system handles the tech issues, doing it is how you learn—no matter how many courses you have taken.
What is HEG Executive Center Training?
The part of your brain behind the forehead is called the prefrontal cortex. It is the brain’s control center. When it is activated, it is responsible for focus and attention, organizing and prioritizing, screening out distractions and impulses, motivation and other cognitive tasks. When it is in a resting state, it allows a meditative stillness state, sometimes called the Zone or Flow state. The State Changer trains both the active and resting states and the ability to shift between them
